1. Earths Incredible Oceans
This beautiful book is perfect for my higher learners. Students will learn all about the oceans with this picture book.. And there’s all sorts of amazing facts included in this book.

2. The Rainbow Fish
This is probably one of my favorite books to have in the classroom library. It’s such a sweet book about sharing and giving to others.

3. Commotion in the Ocean
We love the fun rhymes that are in this ocean themed book. The poems are about different creatures who live in and around the ocean and it’s perfect to pair with your ocean themed unit.

4. The Pout-Pout Fish
This is the first book in the Pout-Pout fish series and it’s one of our favorites. This book follows Mr. Fish as he swims around with his face stuck in a permanent pout. We love the rhymes in this book and the bright illustrations.

5. The Odd Fish
We love using this book to teach about looking after our oceans. In this book your students will follow Little fish and her family who bump into an odd new fish.. The book is where they try to reunite the fish with its fish.. But there’s also Turtle with a stomach ache.. And Octopus with tangled tentacles.. All linked to plastic.

6. Somebody Swallowed Stanley
“Plastic bags don’t belong in the sea!” This book is about Stanley.. Who it turns out is no ordinary jellyfish… Jellyfish have tentacles but Stanley has handles.. This book is perfect for teaching students about plastic pollution in our oceans.

7. Tiddler
We love Julia Donaldson and all of her different books.. So this one is a must-have for our ocean library. The book is full of rhymes as it follows Tiddler, a little fish with a big imagination.

8. Octopus Escapes Again!
This story follows a hungry octopus who encounters all sorts of hazard and opportunities while searching for a meal. We love this book and it’s great for learning all about the different aspects of an octopus.

9. The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark
We actually did our ocean unit just after our 3 Little Pigs unit finished.. So this book went down really well with my students! It’s a fun spin-off of the 3 Little Pigs story – it’s goofy, fun and a great addition to your ocean books.

10. Goodnight Ocean (Little Explorers)
With this book your students get to explore the ocean and the sleepy ocean creatures as they rest for the night. This is a fun book filled with facts on each page and rhymes.
