Fruit Flag Toast
This fruit flag toast is the perfect breakfast or snack for 4th July. Plus it’s super quick and easy to put together!
What You Need
- Bread
- Strawberry jam
- Banana
- Blueberries
- Marshmallow Fluff
- Toaster
- Knife
Instructions
- Toast the bread.
- Spread strawberry jam over the slice of toast.
- Slice the banana and then cut them in half again.
- Add marshmallow fluff in the top left corner of the toast, and then in lines across the toast.
- Place the bananas on the marshmallow fluff lines.
- Place the blueberries in the top left corner of the toast.
Pretzel Rod Flags
These pretzel rods are another one of my go-to treats for 4th July celebrations.
What You Need
- Pretzel rods.
- Buttercream icing.
- Blue icing.
- Strawberry laces.
- White chocolate stars.
Instructions
- Make the buttercream icing, and then spread it around the pretzel rods.
- Spread blue icing on top of the pretzel rod.
- Wrap a strawberry lace around the bottom of the buttercream icing.
- Add the white chocolate stars on top of the blue icing.
4th July Cookies
What You Need
- Cookie recipe. If we’re in a hurry, I usually buy a cookie mix for students to make or ready made plain ones.
- Red, blue and white icing. You can use ready roll icing, icing pens, whatever works best for your students.
- Cookie cutters.
Instructions
- Cut cookies into rectangles, stars and hearts. Bake them if needed and let them cool.
- Decorate the cookies and turn them into American flags, and 4th July themes.
American Flag Tin Can
This American flag tin can is always a popular craft for my kids to make. And it looks great left around the room as a piece of decor.
What You Need
- Tin can.
- Red tape.
- White tape.
- Blue tape.
- White star stickers.
Instructions
- Start by wrapping the white, red and blue tape around the tin can.
- If you can’t find star stickers, you can cut out stars and then stick them onto the top blue piece.
4th of July Rice Jar
What You Need
- Glass bowl.
- Rice.
- Red and blue food coloring.
- White paper.
- Star paper cutter.
- Or have ready star cut outs instead of paper and the cutter.
Instructions
- Split the rice into 3 sections. Dye one section red. And another section blue. Leave the final section as it is.
- First, pour some of the plain rice into the bottom of the glass jar.
- Next, pour some red rice.
- Again, pour more plain red.
- Then, pour more red rice.
- Finally, pour in the blue rice.
- Push some of the stars around the edge of the blue rice so that they can be seen from the outside of the glass bowl.
Flag Glass Jar
What You Need
- Glass jar.
- Paintbrushes.
- Red acrylic paint.
- Blue acrylic paint.
- White acrylic paint.
Instructions
- First, paint the whole jar with white acrylic paint. Leave to dry.
- Once dry, use red acrylic paint and paint stripes across the jar. Leave a rectangle space white on the top of the jar. Leave to dry.
- Paint the white space on the top of the jar blue. Leave to dry.
- Use a smaller paintbrush, to use the white acrylic paint to form stars on the blue part.
Toilet Roll Fireworks
What You Need
- Empty toilet rolls.
- Blue shiny wrapping paper.
- Red ribbon.
- Paper; red, white, blue.
- Long cocktail sticks.
- Scissors.
- Glue sticks.
- Tape.
Instructions
- You can really design these fireworks however you want, and allow your students to get creative.
- Stick the wrapping paper around one of the toilet rolls.
- Use star stickers to attach to it.
- Roll up card to make it the top of a firework and tape down.
- Stick a cocktail stick inside the toilet roll.
- Curl a ribbon and attach it to the bottom of the firework.
4th of July Windsocks
What You Need
- Empty toilet roll.
- Red and white tissue paper.
- Blue paint.
- Glue.
- White star stickers.
- String.
- Scissors.
- Paintbrush.
Instructions
- Start by painting the toilet roll blue. Leave to dry.
- Attach white star stickers onto the toilet roll.
- Cut the red and white tissue paper into strips.
- Attach the tissue paper strips to the bottom of the toilet roll.
- Loop the string and attach to the top of the wind sock to use as a handle.
Star Paper Craft
We love making these star paper crafts and putting on the front door to decorate.
What You Need?
- Red card.
- White card.
- Blue card.
- Scissors.
- Cardboard.
- Glue.
Instructions
- Cut a circle out of cardboard, and cut out the middle piece.
- Cut stars out of the red, white and blue card.
- Use glue to attach the stars to the cardboard ring cut out.
- You can attach a piece of string to the top back of it if you want to be able to hang this up anywhere.
