What are Task Boxes?
Task boxes are hands-on activities that are kept in some form of box. Personally, I love to use the rainbow storage boxes. The activities are usually hands-on, engaging and designed to target IEP goals / individual learning goals.
These activities can be any range of skills, including matching, sorting, sequencing, fine motor skills etc.
Storing Task Boxes

If you’ve been on the fence wondering about introducing task boxes to your students.. Then check out 5 benefits of using task boxes below;
1. Structured and Organized
I LOVE how task boxes are able to provide my students with a structured and organized way to present different learning opportunities. They are also great for promoting independence and focus for our students.
2. Tailored to Individual Needs
Task boxes are great for being tailored to individual student needs and learning goals. I love how easy they are to differentiate and make individual for my students. This also helps to ensure that all of my students are working at the correct level for themselves and making progress at their own pace.
3. Hands-on Approach to Learning
Task boxes are great for offering a hands-on approach to learning.. And we know how beneficial this is for our students. Many of my students struggle with traditional learning methods, and task boxes have been a positive experience for them.
