In this blog post today I’m sharing some of my favorite Cinco de Mayo picture books that are perfect to use with your students in class.. Or at home with your littles too! 1. Dragons Love Tacos
My kids LOVE this book. It’s great to pair up with taste-testing some tacos with your students as well. The book is all about dragons who love alll types of tacos.. But, if they accidentally eat spicy sales.. You’re in trouble!!

2. Alpacas with Maracas
We love the rhyming and bright illustrations in this book and it’s perfect to use as part of your Cinco de Mayo activities.

3. Let Me Help! / ¡Quiero ayudar!
This book is bilingual – English / Spanish. In the book, Perico learns the phrase ‘¡Quiero ayudar!’ from Martita. And when the family are preparing for Cinco de Mayo.. Perico wants to help.. Even if it’s just to parrot let me help! This book is a great addition for learning more about Cinco de Mayo, celebrations and some different Spanish words.

4. Cinco de Mouse-O
A delicious smell wafts across and wakes up Mouse. When he follows the smell, it takes him to a Cinco de Mayo festival. This book is a fun read and a great addition to your collection of Cinco de Mayo activities.

5. Fiesta Femenina: Celebrating Women in Mexican Folktale
This book contains a collection of folktales from cultures in Mexico. These folktales focus on the important roles of women, such as Rosha who is a young girl who rescues the sun.
6. Chicks and Salsa
This is another one of our favorite books. In this book the chickens are fed up of their feed and decide to make tortilla chips and salsa instead.. It’s a great book and one that will be a great addition to your Cinco de Mayo book collection.

7. Taco Tuesday Finger Puppet Board Book
This finger puppet book is a fun addition to your Cinco de Mayo book collection. Follow the happy little taco as they try to convince you to eat something else for dinner.

8. Mañana, Iguana
In this book, Iguana wants to throw a party.. but when she asks her friends for help, nobody does! In the end, Iguana doesn’t let her friends join the party.. but her friends find a way to make it up to her. We love this book and it’s a sweet addition to your library.

9. Fiesta Time! by Sandi Hill
This book is a great way to help students understand the meaning behind Cinco de Mayo.

10. Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel
When this sequel came out I was so excited to grab it for my students! In this book there are no more tacos left anywhere in the world… So what are the dragons going to do!?
