Errorless Color Adapted Books for Special Education

What is Errorless Learning?
Before we start, just incase you’re new here and haven’t had a chance to read my blog post all about errorless learning yet, here is a brief and quick intro into what errorless learning is;
Errorless learning is an educational strategy that is used to remove the chance of student’s making mistakes. This helps to ensure successful and positive learning experiences for students. Errorless learning provides students with structured and supportive teaching techniques which aims to help students achieve the correct answers from the beginning. The benefits of this are; reducing frustration and anxiety, helping to foster a positive and confident attitude towards learning as well as promoting a quicker mastery of skills by removing the opportunities of making errors.
How to Make Adapted Books
- Print out all of the pages.
- Cut out and laminate each of the pages and bind them into an adapted book.
- Cut out and laminate each of the individual symbols and place velcro onto the back of them.
- Laminate the final base – the baseboard – and add velcro onto these.
- Place the individual symbols onto the baseboard. Students choose the symbols from the baseboard to place onto the adapted book as they complete it.
