Fairytales are one of my favorite themes to use in the classroom. But I know it can be a struggle to think of ideas. So today I’m sharing my top fairytale classroom theme ideas for you to use. I love the fairytale theme because you honestly use it for 2-3 months easily and never run out of ideas. And there are so many fairytales to choose from – your students will never get bored! Plus it’s another great opportunity to provide students with chances to fall in love with reading.
Fairytale Ideas
There are so many fairytales that you can choose from. Personally for me, my top 10 fairytales that I like to use in the classroom are;
- The Three Little Pigs
- The Three Billy Goats Gruff
- The Little Red Hen
- The Gingerbread Man
- The Enormous Turnip
- Little Red Riding Hood
- Jack and the Beanstalk
- Goldilocks and the Three Bears
- Cinderella
- Beauty and the Beast
These are my top 10 just because I find that they’re the best ones to use with my students. My students are able to easily follow along the stories – plus bonus points because they aren’t too long. And they’re so easy to make resources for and decorate the classroom with. There’s nothing worse than choosing a book or a theme and you can’t think of any ideas for different activities. So I always try and mind map out activities for books and themes before I finalize them to ensure that I’m choosing the best possible option.
