Halloween treats don’t always have to be complicated or sugar-heavy. These Ghost Strawberries are the perfect balance of festive and fun, while still being a little lighter than cupcakes or candy bars. Fresh strawberries are dipped in smooth white chocolate and decorated with chocolate “faces” to transform them into adorable spooky ghosts.
They’re quick to make, kid-friendly, and guaranteed to disappear fast at parties. Plus, they’re a great way to add some fruit to your Halloween dessert table!

Step-by-Step Ghost Strawberries Recipe
1. Prepare the Strawberries
- Wash strawberries thoroughly and pat dry.
- Make sure they’re completely dry – any moisture can cause the chocolate to seize.
2. Melt the White Chocolate
- Place white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.
- If the chocolate seems too thick, stir in a spoonful of coconut oil to thin it.
3. Dip the Strawberries
- Hold each strawberry by the green stem and dip into the melted white chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
- Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Optional: Let a little extra chocolate pool at the bottom to make “ghost tails.”
4. Add the Ghost Faces
- Melt dark or semisweet chocolate. Transfer into a piping bag or zip-top bag with the corner snipped.
- Pipe small dots for eyes and an oval “O” shape for a spooky open mouth.
- Let set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results.
5. Serve & Enjoy
- Once the chocolate is firm, transfer strawberries to a serving plate.
- Best enjoyed the same day for the freshest berries.
Tips & Variations
- Use candy eyes instead of piped chocolate for an even easier version.
- Add sprinkles or drizzle with orange-colored chocolate for extra festive flair.
- Try the same method with other fruits like bananas or apple slices.
- For a classroom version, pre-dip the strawberries and let kids add the faces.
These Ghost Strawberries are proof that Halloween treats can be simple, healthy(ish), and fun all at the same time. They’re perfect for parties, school events, or just a festive snack at home. With only a few ingredients and steps, you’ll have a tray of spooky little ghosts ready to impress your guests.
So grab some strawberries and chocolate, and let’s bring these sweet ghosts to life!
