Today I’m sharing some March classroom theme ideas with you all! Can you believe March is almost here already?! This school year feels like it’s going so fast… and yet so slow at the same time. I do love March.. for many reasons.
- It’s my birthday month.
- It’s our Welsh celebration.. St David’s Day.
- You can just feel Spring coming. More sun, longer days, lighter nights. All of that is coming!
And also because there are just some great themes you can do in the classroom in March. And today, I’m going to share my top 10 March themes with you.
1. St David’s Day
St David’s Day is an annual celebration taking place on the 1st March every year. It celebrates the patron saint of Wales, Saint David. You can check out some of our favourite St David’s Day activities that we do below;

2. St Patrick’s Day
St Patrick’s Day takes place annually on the 17th March. It is a celebration of Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. The day is also used to celebrate the heritage and culture of the Irish. Check out the activities that we do to celebrate St Patrick’s Day;

3. Read Across America
Read Across America Day takes place on the 2nd March, 2021. A lot of schools use this theme to work on Dr Seuss. But, there have been many posts recently about Dr Seuss and as a result, many educators and schools are moving away from Dr Seuss.
4. Rainbows
We love learning about rainbows. And it’s a great addition to your St Patrick’s Day unit or your weather unit! Check out some of our top rainbow activities below;
5. Spring
Spring in general is such a lovely theme to have in the classroom. There is SO much you can do with this theme.. And it’s genuinely one of my most loved times of year. Check out some of our top Spring activities;
6. Easter
Easter is another holiday that I LOVE in the classroom. There are so many great activities and ideas you can do with your students for Easter – and my kids love it!
I usually start Easter from the middle of March onwards. Our schools are generally closed for Easter with school holidays. So I like to make a start in March and get it all done before the Easter holidays arrive.
