These no bake Halloween chocolates are the perfect activity to do in your classroom.. Especially if you don’t have access to an oven! All you need is some chocolate, a microwave (or a kettle and bowl to melt the chocolate) and some Halloween moulds.
In this blog post I’m sharing instructions for how we made these Halloween chocolates.. So that you can try them out too!

What You Need
- Chocolate
- Mixing Bowl
- Spoon
- Silicone Mould (USA Shopping Link Here. UK Shopping Link Here.)
- Microwave (Or you can use a kettle and bowl.)
Instructions
- Break your chocolate up into chunks and place in a mixing bowl.
- Place the bowl into the microwave and melt.
- Pour the melted chocolate into the mould and place in the fridge.
- Once hardened, pull out the chocolates and enjoy!
If you don’t have a microwave, keep the chocolate in the wrapper. Place into a deep bowl and boil your kettle (it doesn’t need to be boiling). Then, pour the water over the chocolate wrapper and leave. Once it has melted, remove the chocolate from the bowl, open up the wrapper and scoop out the contents.
Learning Outcomes
- Understanding of Melting Points: Students will learn the concept of melting points. This is from observing how chocolate changes from a solid to a liquid state when heated to the correct temperature.
- Creativity and Design: Students will develop creativity by designing and decorating their Halloween chocolates. They can consider different shapes and add embellishments to enhance their visual appeal.
- Time Management: Students will practice time management. This is by planning the steps involved in melting, cooling, and setting the chocolate within a given timeframe.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Students will improve their teamwork skills by working together to complete tasks, share resources, and assist one another in achieving a successful outcome.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Students will develop problem-solving abilities. This is by addressing challenges that arise, such as chocolate seizing or moulds not releasing properly.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Students will understand the importance of food safety and hygiene practices. This i done by maintaining clean workspaces and using appropriate utensils, to ensure the chocolates are safe to eat.
- Sensory Analysis: Students will engage in sensory analysis. This is by assessing the taste, texture, and appearance of their chocolate creations, learning to critique and improve their culinary skills.
- Entrepreneurial Thinking: Students may explore entrepreneurial skills by considering the potential of selling their Halloween chocolates. You could expand this by learning about packaging, pricing, and marketing strategies.
