‘I Am Working For’ token charts are a great behaviour management tool. This visual resource will help motivate and encourage students to complete their work. By completing their tasks, students will gain tokens. The tokens are for students to receive their reward item at the end. It will also help them to stay focused while working.
 
As professionals, we all know that students work at a variety of different paces and levels to each other. This is why I have provided you with a variety of different options. These are to provide you with the best option for your student(s). They can then work their way up to doing more tasks before reaching their award, as you see them progress.
 
The ‘I am working for‘ boards are quick and simple to use. Students collect a token for each task they complete or minute they have worked. Once they have got all their tokens into place on their board – they get to have their reward/choice activity.
 
If using this as a reward for a choice activity, it’s best for you to have the student choose the activity of their choice at the end to keep them motivated. Or, if they’re unable to choose, you choose something that you know they enjoy. You are going to want to use something that you know your student is going to want to work hard for.
 
This resource comes with two different options of each board. One with a yellow box for choice to go inside, one with black box. 

There are 4 different levels of boards included in this pack;

  • 3 tokens then reward
  • 4 tokens then reward
  • 5 tokens then reward
  • 10 tokens then reward
If you are unsure of what your student’s level of working is, I would start at the bottom and use level 1. Then, build your way up. If you feel your student is capable of working a large amount before achieving their reward then use your professional opinion.

✭ How do I put this together? ✭

1) Print out the board that you want to use
2) Laminate it and attach velcro bits in each box
3) Cut out and laminate the choice activities provided. (Or provide your own). Add velcro to the back of them so that they will stick to the box on the page
4) Cut out and laminate your choice of reward coupons. (3 different options provided) And velcro these. 
This is a great resource for encouraging students to work. And also to improve how long they are able to work for or how many activities they can complete.
