Physical activities are essential in special education classrooms as they provide numerous benefits to students with disabilities. Engaging in physical activities helps to develop motor skills, improve balance and coordination, and enhance overall physical health. Additionally, physical activities can promote social skills, teamwork, and communication among students. For students with sensory processing difficulties, physical activities can serve as a calming and regulating tool to help them refocus and concentrate. Therefore, incorporating physical activities into the daily routine of a special education classroom can greatly enhance students’ physical and social-emotional development.
