♦ I have been invited to a party.
♦ I am nervous, I have never been to a party before.
♦ First, I should find out the dress code so I know what to wear.
♦ I can then either choose something from my wardrobe or go shopping for a new outfit.
♦ If it is a birthday party, I should get a card and present for them.
♦ At the party, there may be loud music. If it’s too loud I can go to a quieter area.
♦ There might be flashing lights, if I don’t like them I could ask for them to be moved or turned off.
♦ There may be party games, I might win, but I might lose too and that’s ok.
♦ There might be food at the party, if I don’t like it, I can try ask for something else.
♦ If I get thirsty, I can ask for a drink.
♦ If I get scared or anxious, I can ask an adult for help.

♦ When the cake is brought out we will all sing ‘Happy Birthday’
♦ The birthday person will blow out the candles on the cake.
♦ If it gets too much, I can ask an adult to call my parents.
♦ If it gets too much, I can ask my parents to take me home.
♦ My friends will understand and will be happy that I came to the party.
♦ When the party is over, I should say thank you.
♦ I might get cake and a party bag to take home with me!
♦ Birthday parties are lots of fun and my friends would like me to come.
