Description
This adapted, interactive book is a great way for students to work on their attention to detail and following instruction skills. Students have to read (or be read) the instructions on the top of each page in the book and then complete the order by building the appropriate sandwich(es) for the customer(s).
This resource will also hopefully help to work on life skills with your students – encouraging them to understand how to make sandwiches, what the different food types are and to try to have a balanced and varied diet.
This activity does involve a bit of prep on your side – cutting and laminating, but it will be so worth it! Plus, if you laminate all the individual pieces, it will make the activity stronger and longer lasting so you can pull it out throughout the year.
The activity comes with instructions on the first page for you to follow to set up.
It comes in col or b/w option for your printing preference.
At the bottom of the PDF are the food pieces for your to cut out/laminate – they state which page they are for. Each page comes with right and wrong ingredients to students have to choose the correct ingredients. However, if you would like to set it up differently for your class this is completely fine.
The last page is slightly more difficult where students have to serve and complete two orders at once for two customers. You can leave this out if you feel it is too high ability for your students at first but this is a great way to help your students progress to the next level.
Adapted books are a great way for students to work on their skills in an interactive way that is more suited to their individual way of learning. When put together as a book, this activity is quick and easy to pull out and use with your students throughout the year.
