Description
Do you want to make working on number line activities fun and engaging for your students? You will with this spring math activity. Students will love following the different instructions of where to put the rabbit on the number line and moving him forwards/backwards.
The task cards come in a variety of different levels to encourage progress with your students. Your students will need to follow the instructions on each task card and pay close attention to detail when working on their number line skills.
The levels included are;
- One instruction ‘Put the rabbit on number 2.’
- Two instructions ‘Put the rabbit on number 3. Hop forward 5 numbers.’
- Three instructions ‘Put the rabbit on number 9. Hop back 7 numbers. Hop forward 2 numbers’
This activity is the perfect way for your students to work on;
- Number recognition
- Awareness of movement – moving forwards and backwards
- Predictions – ‘Where do you think the rabbit will end up?’
- Fine motor skills – moving the rabbit up and down the number line
Instructions
- Print out the task cards, cover and rabbit, and number lines
- Cut out and laminate each of the included pieces.
- Students follow the instructions on the task cards to complete the activity.
