♦ We have to go shopping to get food for our home.
♦ Shops can be very busy so I should stay by my family.
♦ Sometimes, I might see something I like and run off.
♦ I shouldn’t run off or go somewhere without telling my family.
♦ I should wait for my family to come with me.
♦ Sometimes, I may run off and then not be able to find my family.
♦ Or, I may be looking at something and my family lose me.
♦ If I am lost, I may feel scared, angry or upset.
♦ This is ok. I should take a deep breath to help me calm down.
♦ I should look around for a member of staff.
♦ Staff members will have a uniform on, with the shop name.
♦ If I can’t find a staff member, I should look for a security guard.
♦ If I can’t find a security guard, I should go to a cashier.
♦ I should only go with a staff member, they will help me find my family.
♦ I should not go anywhere with a stranger, especially out of the store.
♦ My family will be looking for me and the staff members can help them.
♦ When my family find me, they may be angry or upset.
♦ This is ok. They were worried because I was missing.
♦ Next time, I should stay close to my family.
♦ If I am worried, I can hold onto the trolley or hold my family’s hand.
