There are 3 different adapted books included in this pack, and all are linked to the theme of Valentine’s Day and counting. The books come in different levels to differentiate between students abilities and to help them progress through levels as they progress with their sentence building and counting skills.

 

Adapted books are a great way to encourage students to pay close attention to detail and start to link vocabulary to the images that they see. Each book comes with symbols as well as a ‘base page’ this is where the symbols can be stored when not in use and for students to select the symbols from to use within the adapted books.

 

Spelling is available to suit both colour/color, grey/gray etc.

 

The adapted books included;

  • Level 1 Counting (0-10)
    Students look at how many chocolates are in the box. Then, find the matching number symbol from the base board to place here. I.e ‘1/one’ ’10/ten’
  • Level 2 Counting (0-10)
    Students look at how many flowers are in the vase. Then, find the matching number symbol and flowers from the base board to place here. I.e ‘1/one flower’ ’10/ten flowers’
  • Level 3 Counting (0-10)
    Students look at how many hearts are in the jay. Then, find the matching symbols to make a sentence. I.e ‘5/five hearts in the jar.’

 

Each book comes with instructions included on the first page on how you can put this book together to get the best possible use out of it.

 

The vocabulary is suitable for American or British classrooms. (Color, Colour etc.)

 

These books are great to help students build up and work on their sentences. It encourages students to select the correct words(symbols) to match the picture they are looking at as well as being able to place them in the correct order to build an appropriate sentence.
