Valentine’s Day Literacy Activities CVC Word Task Cards

Are you looking for engaging Valentine’s Day activities to add to your literacy centers? Do your students need to work on their CVC words? If so, these Valentine’s Day CVC task cards are the perfection addition to your literacy activities.

 

Each task card contains a gorilla holding a CVC word image. The task cards come in 2 levels;

• With a dotted handwriting font for students to overwrite
• Blank boxes

 

Students need to identify what the image is and then write down the CVC word in the boxes below.

 

These task cards can also be used in a variety of different ways. You can have your students hunt in a Valentine’s sensory bin for magnetic letters to use to spell the words. Or you can provide them with a writing tool; pen, pencil, crayon etc.

 

The task cards come in two difficulty levels so you are able to differentiate between abilities. They come in col and b/w option for your printing preference.

 

Instructions are included on the first page of PDF file. 2 task cards come on each page to minimise your printing.

 

There are 6 different task cards for each vowel, totalling 30 task cards for each level.

 

I recommend cutting and laminating each task card individually, by laminating the task cards you will find they are stronger and longer lasting. This means you can use them year in, year out for your students, just pulling them out of the cupboard and you can wipe them clean after your students have finished with them!
