Every year we love to get our students to make Valentine’s Day card to either hand out to friends or take home to their family. We like to keep our craft sessions as independent as possible, so we try to find cards and craft activities that are easy for them to make.
This year, we made this adorable cat card. First, us staff made our own copies of the cards. We use these ready-made cards to show our students what they should be making. It also helps to encourage them to work independently.
What You Need
- White A4 Card – folded in half
- Pink card cut into a heart shape
- Either print out ‘You are my purr-fect valentine!’ – or write it with pens. We had our students write it themselves on the computer to get them using a computer too
- Black biro
- 2 googly eyes
- pink foam cut into 3 hearts – two for the ears, one smaller one for the nose
- Glue.
Instructions
- First, stick the large heart cut out of pink card onto the front of the folded in half white card.
- Then, stick the two googly eyes onto the top of the pink heart.
- Now, stick the smaller of the foam hearts onto the bottom of the heart.
- Use the black biro marker to make whiskers coming from the heart nose.
- Stick the two foam hearts on top of the heart to make ears.
