20 Recipes for Safe Edible Slime

Slime is loads of fun – kids can’t seem to get enough of it. If you have younger children, it’s probably already ran through your mind, the possibility of your kiddo putting it in their mouth. Edible slime is your friend! All safe ingredients found right in the kitchen.

Of course, it isn’t just for younger kids. There are a bunch of reasons to make slime out of food items. Leftover Halloween candy that hasn’t been touched in months? How about turning it into a pint-sized science experiment? Or for no other reason, than that slime is awesome and so is candy – put them together and you’re still the coolest teacher in the world!

We love to add the slime into our sensory sessions and have sensory trays that we can pass around the students without having to worry about if anyone is licking – or eating – the slime. It helps put our minds at rest, and of course it’s made our sensory sessions more positive. There is nothing worse than when kiddos are trying to explore and we are constantly having to tell them off for trying to eat it. Edible slime diminishes this and it can be a more relaxed session.
