Why Handprint Crafts Are Always a Winner
Handprint crafts never go out of style, and there’s a good reason for that. They’re personal, meaningful, and incredibly versatile.
For young children, handprint crafts support:
- Fine motor development
- Sensory exploration
- Body awareness
- Following simple instructions
- Creativity and self-expression
For adults, they become keepsakes. The kind that get tucked into memory boxes, stuck on fridges, or pulled out years later with a lump in your throat and a “how were they ever that small?” moment.
This I Love You Berry Much craft adds a playful Valentine’s twist that makes it even more special.
What Is the “I Love You Berry Much” Craft?

This free craft template turns a child’s handprint into a strawberry shape, complete with a leafy green top and the message:
“I love you berry much.”
Simple. Sweet. Effective.
The design works beautifully for:
- Valentine’s Day classroom crafts
- Nursery and preschool activities
- Special education settings
- Speech and language sessions
- At-home crafts with siblings
- Gifts for parents, grandparents, or carers
Because the template does most of the work visually, children can focus on the fun part – making the handprint.
Why This Craft Works So Well in Special Education
One of the things I always consider when creating or sharing crafts is accessibility. This template is ideal for students who may struggle with more complex art activities.
Here’s why it works so well:
- Minimal steps – paint hand, press, done
- High success rate – it looks good no matter what
- Low frustration – no cutting tiny pieces or precise gluing
- Sensory friendly – paint can be adapted (brush, sponge, stamp, or hand over hand)
You can easily adapt it for:
- Hand over hand support
- Using paint rollers or sponges instead of hands
- Printing and coloring instead of painting
- Using red paper handprints instead of paint
It’s inclusive, flexible, and achievable.
Materials You’ll Need
You don’t need anything fancy for this one.
- The free printable template
- Red paint

That’s it!
