Earth Day is coming up, so today I’m sharing with you an Earth Day craft that we did last year. I love having the chance to teach my students about our planet and how we can help look after it. So, we made these handprint Earth crafts.
My students LOVE getting their hands full of paint. When we first introduced handprint painting we weren’t sure if they would like it – especially when sensory is a huge part of our classroom and paint can be too much for many of our students. But – they all love it! They love using their feet too!
What You Need
- Blue card
- Green paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Sponge
Instructions
- Cut a circle out of the blue card.
- Paint the student’s hand green and place it in the middle of the circle.
- Give your student a sponge and green paint. Help them to make pieces of land to help turn it into an ‘Earth’ image.
- Leave to dry.
