My kids LOVE to bake and these cornflake cakes are perfect for some Easter baking. We cook as often as we can in class, because I believe there are so many skills that can be learned through baking.
To make these cornflake cakes, I’ve made a PowerPoint slideshow for you to show your students what they need to do, to make the cakes. If you want to download it, you can find it in my free resource library here. You’ll need a password to enter my free resource library – you can get this by signing up for my free mailing list. That will give you access to a HUGE amount of free resources to use with your students, including this recipe PowerPoint.
What You Will Need
- Cornflakes
- 200g Chocolate
- Microwave
- Mini Eggs
- Spoon
- Cake Cases
- Fridge
First, you need to break up the chocolate bar into small pieces, put it into the microwave and melt it.
Mix the melted chocolate and your cornflakes together. Add the cornflakes slowly until you think there is enough in your bowl to be covered by the chocolate.
Put the cornflakes into cake cases, and add some mini eggs on top. Then, put them into the fridge to set.
I love how independent my students are becoming, so I made a step-by-step visual PowerPoint of this recipe. This allows students to become more independent in their baking skills, and also to work on their following instruction skills.
If you want to grab that free download of the visual PowerPoint recipe just head to my free resource library here.
