I recently shared a cooking class over on my Instagram stories that I did with my students online. And after many requests, I’m sharing my Nutella croissants recipe, along with free printable visuals for you to download and use with your students.
Ingredients
- 1 egg.
- Nutella.
- Puff pastry – I use the ready roll one.
This will make 6 croissants.
Instructions
Set your oven to 200°C.
If you are using ready made pastry that comes in sheets, take it out of the fridge at least 10 minutes before you start. This will make it easier to use. Then, roll it open.
Now, use a pizza cutter to slice the sheet into 6 triangles. Try to keep them the same size – my students find it a little difficult to keep the same size, but it’s great skill to work on.
Next, use a spoon and scoop Nutella into the widest section of each triangle. Then, use the back of the spoon – or a knife if needed – and spread the Nutella around the triangle. Try to keep a border around though, otherwise the Nutella will seep out when the croissant is cooking.
Once you have done this, take the widest side of the triangle and roll it up.
One the croissant is rolled up, bend the sides to make it a croissant shape. And pinch the ends to keep it altogether. Place it on a baking tray with baking paper on.
Now, crack your egg and mix it in a mug. Dip in a brush, and use this to wipe over the croissant.
Now, cook in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
You can store them in an airtight container for 3 days.
