Duck for President
Duck for President has to be the first book I recommend because my students LOVE it. There are so many great activities you can do to expand the learning with this story, and it’s definitely a firm favorite.
Arthur Meets the President
Arthur Meets the President is another popular book with my students. Follow the story as Arthur delivers his winning essay to the President – with a little help from his sister D.W.
If I Were President
My students love following the story of the children imagining what life would be like if they were the president. It’s also a great book to use for expanding conversations and to continue with learning when you’re finished.
Presidents’ Day
My students enjoy following this story and the play that the children put together. Another great one that gets my students engaged and excited for continuing learning.
Celebrating Presidents’ Day
This picture book is great for explaining what Presidents’ Day is – and what a president does.
This Little President
My students love reading simplified information about each President included in this book. It’s always a popular one, and great for us to continue our learning.
President Taft Is Stuck in the Bath
My kids love this story and learning about President Taft, and how he got stuck in the bath. A light-hearted read.
Kid Presidents: True Tales of Childhood from America’s Presidents
Another very popular read with my students. My students love reading about the different Presidents as children and their childhoods.
Grace for President
I love finding books that are inspiring for my students. And this one is perfect! Grace sets out to be the first female President – and this book is a must-have for your classroom library!
I Am George Washington
I love the simplicity of this book, while also giving my students the chance to learn all about George Washington. This is definitely one of my favorites to pull out for Presidents’ Day.
