Autism Resources: Daily Greeting Work Books

This resource contains both the harder versions of my daily adapted greeting books. These adapted greeting books are a great way to help students settle down after their morning/afternoon rush to help them concentrate on their work and prepare for what is coming next. By providing a consistent approach and using the greeting books on a daily basis in both morning and afternoon it will help settle your students into a consistent daily work routine and prepare them for work tasks.

This resource contains the following greeting books:
– Good Morning
– Good Afternoon

These greeting books are great to use every day as part of routine and structure for your students. They require a bit of prep to get ready; laminating, cutting, velcro, binding etc. but once put together they are a great resource and will really benefit your students.

These work books can be edited but please note this is limited. They come as Keynote and Powerpoint files. You can not remove/edit/extract any of the pages content (clipart, text etc.) but you can add photos/pictures/symbols/text to personalise them for your individual students.

Instructions/Walkthrough is also included for both greeting books so that you are able to get the best from these for your students.

Good Morning Work Book
This book will help students to settle down and get ready to focus on their morning work. Many students may struggle with transition in the mornings, so by providing this work book as a consistent routine in their daily morning routine, it will help them to settle quicker and be prepared to work.

The greeting books are individualised so each student can have their own copy.

The document comes as a keynote or powerpoint file. You can add on different wording and add pictures of your student etc. but please note you will not be able to add/change/extract any form of clipart/imagery/text from this document. This is to protect our fabulous clip artists and myself as a teacher-author.

This is a harder, newer version of my Good Morning greeting book. This book encourages students to be able to write their answers (you can also add text to it for them to overwrite if they are not yet at the level of independent writing) but continue to also choose symbols for the answer.

All symbols are also included at the back of the page.

The questions that this greeting book ask are;
♦ My name
♦ How do I feel?
♦ My school
♦ What day is it?
♦ What month is it?
♦ What season is it?
♦ How’s the weather?
♦ What should I wear?

Good Afternoon Work Book
This book will help students to settle down and get ready to focus for their afternoon work. Many students may struggle with transition in the afternoons, especially after playtimes, so by providing this work book as a consistent routine in their daily afternoon routine will help them to settle and be prepared to work quicker.
