I’m so excited to share our recent St David’s Day card craft in this blog post today. My students this year are enjoying making crafts and we have been working on following instructions for our crafts. This craft we made we actually turned into cards to give out to student’s families and friends.
In this blog post today I’m going to share instructions for how you can make this craft too, as well as materials you may need. I also share some of my must-have craft essentials for the classroom that make crafts so easy and quick to do as part of our curriculum.
WHAT IS ST. DAVID’S DAY?
St. David’s Day is a Welsh national holiday celebrated on March 1st each year. This is to celebrate and remember Saint David, the patron saint of Wales.
To celebrate this day, across welsh there will be various festivities that showcase Welsh culture, heritage, and traditions.
Many people will wear daffodils or leeks, which are symbols of Wales. They may also participate in parades, concerts, and traditional folk dances. It is a time for people to come together to celebrate their Welsh identity and commemorate the life and contributions of Saint David.

It is such a shame we don't make more of an effort with St David's day. I love reasons to get children involved in seasonal event. I will be teaching my class about the saint and will be making flags. 🙂 I wish the whole school could make crafts too! I might speak to my head!

We celebrate it for a FULL WEEK in our School LOL! The kids love it – and the staff too! It's a lot of fun. Plus it can be made into so many different sessions, it's a great way to celebrate St. David's Day 🙂 Let me know if you want any help with any information or lesson ideas!
