In this blog post I have attached a template for flexible seating funding. There are lots of benefits for using flexible seating in our special ed classrooms. But we don’t always have the budget to do this. And I’m a huge believer that teachers should not be out of pocket for constantly purchasing items for their classroom.
However, I also know that it can be really overwhelming to ask others for donations for your classroom.. Or even trying to just put together a pitch for DonorsChoose etc.
That’s why I’ve tried to make this a little easier for you and I’ve included a template for flexible seating funding below. You can use this template as a base for your DonorsChoose request or even just for an open funding request online.
Hopefully this template will save you some time. And you just can just add/edit/remove some parts to make this letter more personal for your students and classroom.
The Template
Dear Donors Choose Community,
I am a special education teacher at [School Name], and I am seeking funding for flexible seating options for my classroom. As a teacher, I know that all students learn differently and have unique needs. Flexible seating will benefit my students by providing them with the opportunity to learn in a way that is comfortable for them.
Currently, my classroom is limited to traditional desk and chair arrangements, which can be difficult for some students with physical disabilities or attention difficulties. Flexible seating options such as wobble chairs, yoga balls, and bean bag chairs can provide my students with the opportunity to move and fidget while still staying focused and engaged in their learning.
Incorporating flexible seating into my classroom will not only benefit my students’ learning, but it will also help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. With your support, we can make a difference in the lives of my students and help them reach their full potential.
Thank you for considering my project and for your dedication to supporting education.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
