Fizzing Cauldrons Science Experiment for Kids

This Fizzing Cauldrons Science Experiment for Kids is the perfect science activity to do this October. We LOVE doing fizzing/erupting science experiments.. And changing them up for different seasons/holidays helps to keep my students engaged and excited for what may happen next.

In this blog post I’m sharing all the details for what you need and the instructions for how you can make these fizzing cauldrons with your students too.

What You Need

Instructions

  • Place mini cauldrons in your sensory tray.
  • Scoop a spoonful of baking soda into each of the cauldrons.
  • Squeeze some food coloring on top of the baking soda in each cauldron.
  • Students use pipettes or spoons to pour vinegar into the cauldrons.
  • When the vinegar mixes with the baking soda, it will cause an explosion!
  • As the ‘explosions’ happen and they overspill from the cauldron, your students will be able to see different colors.
